Congratulations to the new National Honor Society officers!

These students will run the induction ceremony for the new junior members selected at the beginning of the Spring Semester. Congratulations!

Any student or teacher interested in opening a bank account with Ouachita Valley, please come see Ms. Felicia in the bank located across from Check-In/Check-Out!

Are you bilingual? Do you want to earn credits for the language you already know and possibly meet the requirements for Louisiana's Seal of Biliteracy? The Apple Test will be given September 12th to students who sign up with Mrs. Ballance in room 2207 on or before September 9th. The cost of the test is $20, and students can earn high school credits based on their test scores. See Mrs. Ballance for a registration sheet.

Students, we will begin printing athletic passes next week.  To get into this week's game, you must have a copy of your reciept or email to prove that you purchased an athletic pass.  We look forward to seeing you in Rebel Stadium tongiht! Athletic passes are still on sale in Coach Arledge's room 3102 and Coach McDuffie's room 5207. Or you can buy them online. This is one of the best deals on campus activities. 

The Counseling Office will be hosting a NELA College Fair on Thursday, September 8th from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. We are expecting over 40 College representatives from Louisiana colleges, as well as out-of-state colleges. This will be a great night to compare your college options and ask important questions about your future. 

Seniors:
The Counseling Office will be hosting “Senior Information Sessions” for Graduating Seniors and their Parents on Thursday, September 8th at 5:00 and 6:00 PM. Seniors and their parents may attend EITHER session. These Senior Information Sessions will cover their Graduation Checklist, ACT Test Dates, TOPS Scholarship Requirements, Financial Aid Application Info, and more. These Senior Sessions will coincide with the NELA College Fair on the same night. So, Seniors, be sure to attend and check out this great event!  

Students who were absent on picture day will have make up photos during their English classes on Thursday, September 8th. You will check in with your English teacher and then head down to the auditorium. Only students who were absent on picture day will be photographed.

Senior baby ads for the yearbook are on sale now under online school payments on gorebs.org. The deadline to purchase senior baby ads is Friday, December 2nd.

The first student council meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 6th @ 6:30 pm in the library.  This meeting is for members who joined in the spring and for prospective members.  Also, student council dues must be paid by September 23.  You can pay online or pay cash to Mrs. Jones in room 6205.  

Robotics meetings start next Thursday after school. Any interested student should apply at magnatech3468.com or by using the QR code found on the posters in the halls. See Mrs. Duke or Mr. Lovelady if you have questions.

Juniors and Seniors...ACT waivers have arrived. IF you qualify for free and/or reduced lunch, you can stop by Guidance to pick up a waiver from Mrs. Ramsey and take the ACT for free.

Students interested in the Amateur Radio Club can attend our first meeting of the year in the STEM building next Tuesday, Sept 6th after school. Find out what it takes to become a licensed ham operator and make radio contacts.

If you would like to be a part of the Rebel Nation student section, you may join for a one-time fee of $3.00 payable to Mrs. Pickering in room 3103 OR If you purchase a $30 athletic pass, your Rebel Nation membership is covered!!! You are not required to pay the $3.00 membership with an athletic pass. You are automatically a member! We hope to see you in the student section tonight to "paint out the panthers"

Any junior or senior interested in joining the WMHS History Club, should complete an online application.  The requirements for membership and the application link are on Mr. Aswell’s teacher page.  The deadline to apply is Friday September 9th.

Key Club is a service organization affiliated with Highland's K Kids, ULM's Circle K, and the Kiwanis club of Greater Ouachita. Key Club applications are available outside room 3103 and fees can be paid online. Old members must also renew membership and dues. Our first meeting will be September 13th at 7:20am and 3:10pm in room 3103.

Coach Osborne will start a driver's ed class beginning on Thursday September 8th after school at 3:45. Class days and times are on gorebs.org, they will vary each day.  Classes will meet upstairs in the football field house.  You can start signing up on gorebs.org today.  The cost is 295.00 and if you have any questions, you can go see Coach Osborne in the old gym between 7:15 - 11:30.

4-H Club enrollment is now open! Look outside Ms. Russell's room 6104 for information on joining. Enrollment ends September 14th.

West Monroe High School will administer the ASVAB on Thursday, September 22, 2022. Sign up for this FREE test with your U.S. History teacher by Friday, September 9 th.  Seniors who did not test last year or would like to retest may do so. Seniors should sign up with Mrs. Williams by Friday, September 9th, or with any U.S. History teacher.

Students interested in joining Student Diversity League can fill out an application with Mrs. Anders in room 4204. Applications are due by September 4th and dues must be paid by September 16th in order to receive a club t-shirt.
